There are pros and cons to being a working mom, but the pros outweigh the cons. Yes, I said that! Yes I’m a mom and I love my child. I also love being able to spend a little money on him too. It’s such a rewarding feeling when you contribute to family vacations, cool clothes, toys, you know all the needs and wants of your little ones.

I told myself while my son was little it’s better to start my career now and get established before he goes to school. That way I won’t be stressed trying to juggle building a clientele and helping him with homework,sports,and all his needs without my full attention! Also so we can take him to the movies as much as we want, purchase multiple Halloween costumes (they are great for dress up all year round) , purchase unlimited zoo passes, you know, “all the things”. One thing I have noticed is when I give my all to my home life, my work life succeeds as well. Neither one gets put on the back burner. It’s all about balance.

I know my son will see my husband and I as passionate about our craft and love to work to provide for our little family. Our son will grow up to have a great work ethic and passionate about earning a living because he saw us do the same. After all you can’t have the life you want by sitting on your butt.

Although I can’t say my job is ever stressful, maybe challenging some days but not at all that I need an escape from it. In the US in the early 2,000’s over 70% of people said that they feel stress and anxiety daily because of their work. Well, you must have a job you love for starters. Anyway what I can help with is sharing some tips that I recommended to distress that has helped me relax;

1.) Oils, I put them in my bath, the

hott tub, in my scentsy, on my self, everywhere! The smells are soothing to me, especially the eucalyptus.

2.) Reading. I love reading self help books, devotions, and my bible. Reading is a great stress reliever. It makes me feel motivated. I find that when I read in the morning watching the sunrise it makes for a great, SMOOTH day..When I wake up getting my brain thinking by getting into a book. It gets me motivated to tackle tasks I have at the house before work.

3.)Nature. It is scientifically proven that being in nature reduces your blood pressure, your heart rate, and makes you feel better emotionally. When I just pause take a deep breath and look at the trees while listening to the noises of nature I get relaxed just being in awe of God’s creations.

4.) Weekend family getaways; I never feel more rejuvenated than going on a quick camping trip, or drive up to the lake for the weekend. Getting away with the family for a little while and spending quality time together is just good for your soul.
